Variable Extrusion (Slub)
Modulates the extrusion multiplier along the path using a sine wave — wide/thin/wide in a repeating pattern. Named after "slub" — the irregular thick-and-thin yarn used in hand-spun fabrics.

Parameters
Variable Extrusion parameters
Min Multiplier- Lowest extrusion multiplier. Range 0–1, default 0.5. At 0.5 the thinnest segments extrude half the normal amount. Values below 0.3 risk under-extrusion gaps.
Max Multiplier- Highest extrusion multiplier. Range 1–5, default 2.0. Values above 2.5 can cause over-extrusion blobs on typical nozzles — tune carefully.
Wavelength (mm)- Arc-length distance between consecutive thick-thin cycles in mm. Range 1–100, default 20. Smaller wavelengths produce beading; larger wavelengths produce long gradients.
Each point's existing eMultiplier is multiplied by lerp(minMult, maxMult, (sin(...)+1)/2) — so the filter scales relative to whatever previous filters set, not absolute.
Typical use
- Hand-spun yarn look — random-feeling thick/thin variation on prints.
- Calligraphy strokes — bold peaks and thin transitions like brushstrokes.
- Texture contrast — highlight specific regions along paths by raising min or max.
