Tutorial 5: Rounded Box with Lid

Model a boxed shell with a separate lid using two RectangleExtrude branches, Move to stack the lid, and Mesh Merge into one buffer for STL export.

What you'll learn

Prerequisites

Step 1: Body and lid extrusions

Step 1

Two rectangles on the bed

Connect Print Bed center to both Rectangle nodes. Size the base (body) and a slightly larger second rectangle for the lid. Set Corner R for rounded edges. Add Extrude on each: body gets a taller distance; lid gets a thin distance (one or two layer heights worth is enough for a cosmetic lid).

Step 2: Merge for export

Step 2

Move lid and Mesh Merge

Add Move; wire lid extrude meshgeometry and set offset Z to the body height so the lid sits on top. Add Mesh Merge: connect body mesh to a and moved lid mesh to b. Connect Mesh Merge meshOutput Preview mesh.

Outcome

One merged mesh suitable for a single STL file; use your slicer to separate bodies if you prefer two parts.
