Set Jerk

Sets the jerk (instantaneous speed change) for X and Y axes. Affects how abruptly the printer can change direction at corners. Marlin and Prusa firmware only.

Block

Interactive preview is available in the interactive reader.

Parameters

value (mm/s)
Jerk / instantaneous speed change. Typical values: 5-15 mm/s. Marlin/Prusa firmware only.

How it works

Set Jerk outputs M205 X{val} Y{val} to configure the maximum instantaneous speed change at direction reversals. Lower jerk reduces ringing and corner artifacts but slows direction changes. Higher jerk allows faster corners but may cause visible ringing.
