Terrain Layers
Geological strata, printed in plastic. Terrain Layers generates smooth Catmull-Rom spline curves stacked like sedimentary rock layers, mountain ridgelines, or the contour bands on a topographic map viewed from the side. Each layer flows independently, creating a rich, layered landscape texture that wraps beautifully around cylindrical prints.

Parameters
Wave Layers- Number of stacked terrain bands. More layers = richer geological depth; fewer = bold, sweeping ridgelines.
Segments- Segment density per layer -- how many control points define each spline curve. Higher = more jagged peaks; lower = gentle rolling hills.
Amplitude- Height variation of the terrain layers. Crank it for dramatic mountain ranges; dial it down for subtle sand dunes.
Spread- How far apart the layers are vertically. Wide spread fans them across the full texture; tight spread compresses them into a dense band.
Blur- Smooths the terrain for a more eroded, weathered appearance.
Seed- Generates a completely different landscape. Each seed is a new planet's cross-section.
Resolution- Texture resolution in pixels. Higher values preserve the smooth spline curves.
Ratio- Aspect ratio of the texture. Wide ratios stretch the landscape panoramically.
Depth (mm)- Displacement depth. Positive raises the terrain outward; negative carves canyon layers inward.
Tile U / Tile V- Tiles the terrain around (U) and along height (V). Increase U for a landscape that wraps seamlessly.
Rotation- Rotates the terrain. 90° turns horizontal strata into vertical columns.
Width Gain- Varies extrusion width with terrain brightness for ridges that feel physically wider at their peaks.
Flow Gain- Extra filament on terrain peaks for mountain ridges that genuinely stand proud of the surface.
