Hex Topo Contour
Hex Topo Contour combines a hex lattice of circular bases with stepped, topographic rings inside each cell. Where circles overlap, the surface keeps the higher step—valleys do not cut back down—so the pattern reads as stacked mesas rather than wavy iso-flow. It suits tactical grips, jewelry, and decorative panels that need clear discrete levels.

Parameters
Columns (U)- Number of hex cells around the circumference (2–20).
Rows (V)- Number of hex cell rows along height (1–15).
Step Depth (mm)- Base height increment per contour ring; outer ring uses one step, center uses all steps (0–3 mm).
Circle Size- Footprint radius of each stepped feature in UV space (0.3–1.5).
Contour Steps- How many concentric terrace rings each circle contains (1–20).
Step Multiplier- Scales the vertical spacing between rings (0.1–2).
Edge Softness- Fillets between flat terraces for smoother prints (0–0.5).
U Phase- Angular offset of the lattice in radians (0–6.28).
V Phase- Vertical offset of the pattern in radians (0–6.28).
How It Works
Each hex site builds a radial distance field; that distance is quantized into Contour Steps bands and scaled by Step Depth and Step Multiplier. Contributions from overlapping circles are combined with a maximum so only the taller terrace wins at any point. Edge Softness rounds the vertical jumps between those quantized levels.
