Weave Offset

Adds a sinusoidal displacement to each path with alternating phase per path. Even-indexed paths shift one way; odd-indexed paths shift the opposite way. The cornerstone of woven-look patterns.

Weave Offset applied to parallel lines, creating a fabric-like feel

Parameters

Weave Offset parameters

Amplitude
Magnitude of the displacement in mm. Range 0–20, default 2. Moderate values (1–4 mm) give a believable weave without breaking the line continuity.
Frequency
Wave frequency in radians per mm (roughly). Range 0.01–1, default 0.1. Controls how often the "over/under" pattern switches along each line.
Axis
Direction of displacement. Choices: X (horizontal shift driven by Y coordinate), Y (vertical shift driven by X coordinate), Normal (shift perpendicular to the path tangent at each point — follows curves naturally). Default Normal.

The Normal axis computes the path's perpendicular at each point, making the weave track curves and bends correctly. Use X or Y only when you need a specific axis-aligned weave.
