Wave Lines

Like Parallel Lines, but each stroke is a sinusoidal curve with a per-line phase shift. Perfect for fabric-style undulations without any filters in the stack.

Wave Lines pattern with visible phase-shifted sinusoids

Parameters

Wave Lines parameters

Line Count
Number of parallel wavy strokes. Range 1–500, default 50.
Spacing
Horizontal distance between adjacent lines in mm. Range 0.1–20, default 2.
Length
Vertical length of each stroke in mm. Range 10–500, default 200. The wave oscillates along the length.
Amplitude
Peak horizontal displacement of the wave in mm. Range 0–100, default 10. At 0 the pattern reduces to Parallel Lines.
Frequency
Wave frequency (radians per mm). Range 0.001–0.5, default 0.05. Higher values produce more peaks per line; lower values produce slow gentle undulations.
Phase Shift/Line
Phase offset added between adjacent lines, in radians. Range 0 to 2π, default 0.5. Non-zero values create a staggered look — neighbouring lines are out of sync, which reads like woven fabric.
Resolution
Number of sample points per line. Range 2–500, default 100. Higher resolution gives smoother curves; needs to be high enough that the wave reads as a curve, not as zigzag segments.
