Grid Lattice
A rectilinear grid of horizontal and vertical lines covering a rectangular area. The most predictable generator — excellent as a structural base or as a starting point for moiré layering.
Parameters
Grid Lattice parameters
Width- Pattern width in mm. Range 10–500, default 200. Centered on the origin — extends from
-Width/2to+Width/2. Height- Pattern height in mm. Range 10–500, default 200. Centered on the origin.
Spacing X- Horizontal spacing between vertical lines in mm. Range 1–50, default 10. Controls the grid density in the X axis.
Spacing Y- Vertical spacing between horizontal lines in mm. Range 1–50, default 10. Controls the grid density in the Y axis. Different X/Y spacings produce rectangular cells.
Angle- Rotation of the whole lattice in degrees. Range −90 to 90, default 0 (aligned to axes). Use non-zero angles to print diagonal grids.
Typical use
- Structural backdrops — a sparse lattice under an intricate pattern gives mechanical support.
- Gingham / chequered prints — combine with a rotated copy via the Transform filter to form 45° cross-hatching.
- Calibration — use uniform grid spacing to test line width and bed adhesion across a large area.
