Capsule Shape
This effect replaces the circular cross-section with a stadium outline: straight parallel sides along the long axis and semicircular caps on the short ends—the classic pill shape. Use it when you want cylindrical mid-sections with rounded ends. It is distinct from Slot Shape (rounded rectangle with corner fillets). This is cross-section geometry only, not displacement, and Growth Curve is not supported.

Parameters
Width (mm)- Short axis: diameter of the semicircular end caps (1–500 mm).
Length (mm)- Long axis: overall extent including straight segments and both caps (1–500 mm).
Spiral (°)- Rotation of the capsule that increases with height (−1800° to 1800°).
Phase- Angular offset of the capsule around the layer (0–6.28 rad).
How It Works
Geometrically, the outline is two half-circles joined by parallel tangents. Width sets the cap diameter (and thus the thickness of the straight section region relative to Length). After sizing, the long axis is aligned along X in cross-section; Phase and Spiral reorient that footprint around the build axis as you move up the model.
The profile still scales the cross-section size with height. The effect does not modulate surface detail—it replaces the primitive circle with this closed path.
