Hex Grid
Hex Grid is a painted hex canvas plus a 3D floor preview. You click cells, tune grid size and layers, and 3dSynth builds a vase-style toolpath that matches the pattern.
What It Is
- 2D canvas — click (or click-and-drag) cells to activate them
- Grid controls — radius, hex size, perimeters, and layer count
- 3D floor — live toolpath of the painted cells on the bed
- Direct G-code — export uses your machine, material, and nozzle presets
What You Can Build
- Coasters and tiles — small radius, a few layers
- Lattice panels — single-perimeter curves between cells
- Flower motifs — centre cell plus the six around it
Your First Hex Print
- Open 3dSynth and select Hex Grid
- Set Grid Radius to 3 and Hex Size to 20 mm
- Paint the centre hex and the six around it
- Confirm printer presets, then Export G-Code
