Tutorial 4: Crystal Ring

Create a ring of faceted towers: a small Polygon is offset with Move, then Array Polar copies it around the bed centre, and Layer Stacker adds height, twist, and taper—like a parametric candelabra base.

What you'll learn

Prerequisites

Step 1: Offsets and polar array

Move and Array Polar

Array Polar repeats geometry (path / mesh / toolpath) about pivot on axis— here Z through the bed origin.

Step 1

Bed → polygon → move → array

Connect Print Bed center to Polygon center. On Move, set offset to push the small polygon outward (e.g. 20, 0, 0). Wire Polygon pathMove geometry. Set Array Polar Count to 8, Total ° to 360, Axis to Z, and wire Print Bed centerpivot.

Step 2: Stack to toolpath

Step 2

Layer Stacker to Output

Connect Array Polar path to Layer Stacker path. Set Layer H, Layers, Rotation °/layer, and Taper (end scale). Wire Layer Stacker toolpathOutput Toolpath.

Outcome

A radial print with a clear seam strategy from stacked layers and optional twist.
