License & Activation
After purchasing on Gumroad, you receive a license key by email. You can activate it in two ways:
In the Browser
- Click the key icon in the toolbar (top-right)
- Enter your license key and email
- Click Verify -- features unlock immediately
In the Desktop App
- Download the app for your platform (Windows, macOS, or Linux)
- Open the menu:
- Paste your license key and click Save License
Once verified, the desktop app works fully offline.
macOS Installation
macOS may block the app the first time you open it because it was downloaded from the internet. Follow these steps:
Step 1 — Download the right version
- Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4): download the arm64 file
- Intel Mac: download the x64 file
Not sure which Mac you have? Click the Apple menu > About This Mac. If the chip says "Apple M…", use arm64. If it says "Intel", use x64.
Step 2 — Install
Open the .dmg file and drag 3dSynth into your Applications folder.
Step 3 — Allow the app to open
When you first open 3dSynth, macOS will show a warning that the app cannot be verified. To allow it:
- Open System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS)
- Go to Privacy & Security
- Scroll down — you should see a message: "3dSynth was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer"
- Click Open Anyway and confirm
Alternative — using Terminal
If the above doesn't work, open Terminal and run:
sudo xattr -cr /Applications/3dSynth.appEnter your Mac password when prompted, then open 3dSynth normally.
