Printer Compatibility & Firmware

3dSynth automatically detects your printer's firmware type and generates appropriate G-code. Different firmware (Marlin, Klipper, etc.) require different commands, and 3dSynth handles this for you.

Automatic Firmware Detection

When you select a printer profile, 3dSynth automatically detects the firmware type and adjusts the G-code accordingly:

Supported Printer Profiles

3dSynth includes built-in profiles for the following printers. Profiles marked Tested have been verified end-to-end with real prints. Other profiles are community-sourced and should work but may need minor startup/shutdown adjustments.

Bambu Lab Printers

Bambu Lab printers use proprietary firmware with specific G-code requirements. When a Bambu Lab printer is selected, 3dSynth automatically makes the Bambu Studio G-code export the primary option.

The Bambu export includes firmware-specific commands that standard G-code does not:

Troubleshooting

Unknown Error on Printer

If your printer shows an "unknown command" error:

  1. Check that you selected the correct printer profile
  2. Look at the G-code header to see which firmware was detected
  3. Klipper printers reject Marlin commands (M201, M420, etc.)
  4. If your printer isn't listed, choose a similar one with the same firmware

G-code Header Shows Firmware Type

Your generated G-code includes a comment showing the detected firmware:
