Travel Optimize
Reorder extrusion segments within each Z layer using a greedy nearest-neighbour heuristic to minimise total travel distance. A quick win on multi-contour prints (infill, supports, multi-island layers).

Sockets
toolpath (in)- Toolpath. Required.
toolpath (out)- Toolpath — extrusion segments only, reordered. Travel-flagged segments are dropped (the compiler regenerates them).
Parameters
Allow segment reverse- If on, a segment may be traversed in the opposite direction when that makes the travel shorter. Default: on.
Respect layer order- If on, segments are grouped by their first-point Z and optimised within each layer; if off, every extrusion segment competes globally. Default: on.
How It Works
- Drop travel-flagged segments (the compiler inserts fresh travels between extrusions automatically).
- Group remaining segments by Z (if Respect layer order is on) — spirals and other multi-Z segments stay where they are.
- For each group, greedy nearest-neighbour:
