Loft Profiles
Stack and stitch two closed profiles into a tube-like mesh, with optional intermediate rings for smoother transitions. Perfect for lamps, bottles, cups — anything with a distinct "top silhouette" and "bottom silhouette".

Sockets
a (in)- Path. Required — profile A (≥3 vertices).
b (in)- Path. Required — profile B (≥3 vertices).
mesh (out)- Mesh — the lofted surface with optional caps.
Parameters
Ring verts- Number of vertices each ring is resampled to. Default: 48. Both profiles are arc-length resampled so their vertex counts need not match upstream.
Intermediate rings- Number of rings between A and B, inclusive of the endpoints. 1 = just A and B; 2 = A, mid, B; etc. Default: 1.
Cap A / Cap B- Close the bottom and top rings with a centroid fan. Defaults: on.
Closed profile- Stitch the seam of each ring. Default: on. Turn off for open profiles (extruded open sheets).
How It Works
- Resample both profiles to
Ring vertspoints by arc length. - Linearly interpolate between them to produce
Intermediate rings + 1rings. - Stitch rings into a quad strip.
- Cap the first and last rings with simple centroid fans when enabled.
The centroid fan is a cheap triangulation that works great for convex profiles. For concave profiles, pre-triangulate upstream instead.
