Flow Modulate

Set each segment's flow multiplier from a scalar field. The only stop along the pipeline that changes how much material comes out of the printer — perfect for subtle texture, controlled overextrusion, or tuning vase walls.

Sockets

toolpath (in)
Toolpath. Required.
values (in)
PointArray. Required — scalar stream.
min (in)
Float. Optional override for Min flow.
max (in)
Float. Optional override for Max flow.
toolpath (out)
Toolpath — same geometry, modified flow multipliers.

Parameters

Min flow
Multiplier reached where the field is at its minimum. Default: 0.6.
Max flow
Multiplier reached where the field is at its maximum. Default: 1.4.
Mode
Replace (per-segment) overwrites the existing multiplier. Multiply existing composes with whatever was already set upstream — handy when chaining multiple Flow Modulate nodes. Default: Replace.
Skip travels
Travel-flagged segments are passed through with their flow untouched. Default: on.

How It Works

  1. Auto-normalise the field: fMin = min(values.x), fMax = max(values.x).
  2. For each non-travel segment i:

The compiler reads flowMultiplier directly when emitting G-code, so the effect is literal mm³ changes in the extruded line.
